  • Database administrators are responsible for managing database changes through the change request process and providing status reports to relevant parties. ">
  • They participate in development projects, such as logical and physical database design. ">
  • Incident response is also a key aspect of this role, where they assist and respond promptly to incidents, investigate and provide temporary and/or permanent resolutions for escalated incidents. ">
  • Performance tuning, performance management and database setup are other responsibilities of a database administrator. ">
  • They monitor and measure the performance and availability of databases proactively, implement corrective actions to improve performance and availability. ">
  • Service level requirements are met by ensuring regular reporting to relevant parties and documenting and maintaining the configuration of the databases. ">
  • Database administrators also lead and monitor databases according to standard operating procedures. ">
  • Service continuity measures such as backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans are implemented to ensure continuous business operation. ">
  • Database implementation is another area where they are involved. ">

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • ">
  • A bachelor's degree in IT or any related discipline is essential for this role. ">
  • More than 3 years of experience in the installation, configuration, and management of SQL Server databases is required. ">
  • Experience with SQL Server Clustering and AlwaysOn Availability Group setup and management is beneficial. ">
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL statements, stored procedures, and functions is necessary. ">
  • Expertise in database performance monitoring and tuning using SQL Server Tools like Profiler Trace, SQL Statistics, and Execution Plan is highly valued. ">
  • Setting up and managing database replication is an added advantage. ">
