Housekeeping Department Lead

This role encompasses overall responsibility for the Housekeeping Department, including rooms, public areas, and laundry operations.

  1. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, order, and appearance of the hotel according to established procedures.
  2. Supervise, train, and inspect the work of housekeeping attendants to uphold hotel standards.
  3. Prepare and distribute task assignments to staff and prioritize duties.
  4. Monitor staff attendance records and document any instances of lateness or absenteeism.
  5. Inspect housekeeping attendants' carts for proper supplies, neatness, and cleanliness, addressing any technical issues.
  6. Assign designated keys and beepers to staff and maintain accurate records.
  7. Monitor forecasted occupancy and ensure adequate staffing for cleaning check-out rooms.
  8. Assist guests with housekeeping items or additional supplies in a timely manner.
  9. Review the status of housekeeping tasks with the manager and follow up on outstanding issues.
  10. Inspect public areas, bathrooms, restaurants, gyms, pools, and service areas after being cleaned by housekeeping attendants.
  11. Support housekeeping attendants with job functions as needed to maintain optimal cleanliness and service standards.
  12. Conduct training sessions for staff.
  13. Report staff disciplinary problems to superiors and participate in counseling sessions.
  14. Handle staff grievances, disciplinary issues, and provide counseling accordingly.
  15. Verify supplies in storage areas and requisition additional supplies as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Secondary education or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2-year experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel setting.
  3. Working knowledge of sanitation standards (preferred).
  4. Strong team player.
  5. Able to work shifts, weekends, and during Public Holidays.
