Department Overview
The Human Resources department plays a pivotal role in aligning organizational goals with employee aspirations. Our mission is to enhance workforce capabilities, driving sustainable growth at UOB. Our HR specialists are dedicated to four key commitments: uphold ethical standards, cultivate meaningful careers, create impactful change, and exemplify positive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to the Consumer Banking sector, collaborating with various functions to implement and execute the people strategy effectively.
- Engage in proactive relationship management, offering HR guidance and support across all facets of the Consumer Banking operations, including recruitment, performance evaluation, talent development, compensation strategies, training initiatives, organizational growth, and workforce planning.
- Address employee relations matters, either directly or in collaboration with the employee relations team, encompassing disciplinary actions, grievances, litigation, redundancies, and terminations. Ensure the effective application of people management strategies and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with group and country HR teams, as well as specialized HR units, to deliver comprehensive HR services that align with business objectives.
Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate holds a degree and possesses a minimum of 12 to 15 years of HR experience within large organizations or the banking sector, with a preference for experience in a Consumer Banking context.
- A proactive team leader, capable of working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent stakeholder management capabilities are essential, along with a solid understanding of local labor laws and HR practices.
- Effective communication skills, a commitment to excellence, and a principled, energetic approach to HR partnership are critical for success in this role.
