Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the general facility maintenance and operational effectiveness throughout our manufacturing facility spaces, in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign and supervise preventive maintenance routines to facilities technicians, ensuring timely execution and compliance with EHS and quality guidelines.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge and technical proficiency in operation and maintenance of facilities systems, including HVAC, electrical, and clean room systems, to ensure successful outcomes and knowledge transfer to other levels of technicians.
  • Lead and manage minor facilities projects, including contractor and vendor management, project planning, and budgeting, to ensure compliance with GxP and EHS requirements.
  • Conduct and write impact assessment reports of incidents, exception work orders, equipment non-conformance reports, and out-of-tolerance reports, and troubleshoot and propose solutions to limit downtime and keep production on schedule.
  • Analyze predictive inspection data of critical facilities systems, including clean room systems, with engineers to determine predictive maintenance actions to prevent premature system breakdown.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimal operations.
  • Provide training, coaching, guidance, and information to lower-level technicians as requested and needed.
  • Assist engineers in performing validation on facilities systems, including clean room systems.
  • Review and enhance the effectiveness of preventive maintenance, TPM, continuous improvement, and calibration with engineers.
  • Establish equipment spare parts lists for facilities systems, including clean room systems.
  • Manage facilities asset lists, reviewing new and disposed asset resolutions with engineers and managers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical Engineering (or relevant degree) from a recognized institution with 7 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, lubrication, pneumatic, boiler, and/or autoclave systems required.
Additional Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach others, and transfer knowledge.
  • Strong English language skills, including reading, comprehending, speaking, and writing, and good communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and Maximo.
  • Extensive knowledge of routine preventive maintenance of facilities systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, clean room, RO water, steam boiler, and compressed air systems.
  • Full knowledge of GxP, Quality, and EHS practices.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a medical device environment.
  • Ability to work independently, provide guidance, training, and assignments to lower-level technicians, and adhere to all company rules and requirements.
  • Project management knowledge and budgeting.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
