Position Overview

Role Summary:

As the Application Consulting Lead for Core Laboratory systems, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive support for all application-related aspects of the Core Lab business team, particularly focusing on the Mass Spectrometry portfolio.
  • Planning and executing product training sessions in accordance with Global Customer Support (GCS) Training Standards and Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP).
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating thorough needs assessments and training initiatives, including educational seminars and workshops.
  • Delivering high-quality application support that aligns with the evolving needs of affiliates and their clientele.
  • Offering advanced troubleshooting assistance and collaborating with the business team during roll-outs to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Networking with application teams across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Facilitating and promoting effective business communication across APAC countries to ensure the sharing of best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking charge of enhancing technical support and training processes.
  • Collecting and conveying strategic and competitive insights, sharing use cases with Global and Regional stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and conducting application training and demonstrations.
  • Supporting affiliates from the identification of product issues to the implementation of effective solutions.
  • Engaging in projects related to technical support, training, sales, and marketing.
  • Assisting sales teams and clients in developing or validating protocols.
  • Supporting technical product management, including preparation for product launches and disseminating information across APAC affiliates.
  • Reporting directly to the Application Consulting Team Manager within the Lab & C-Suite Value Stream.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive knowledge of mass spectrometry principles, instrumentation, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Practical experience with various mass spectrometers, including LC-MS and GC-MS.
  • Proficient in interpreting complex mass spectrometry data and resolving issues that may arise during analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to optimize instrument performance and ensure reliable results.
  • Ability to evaluate laboratory processes, including sample preparation, system tuning, method refinement, and data management.
  • Understanding of sample preparation techniques and chromatography methods that enhance mass spectrometry analysis.
  • Competence in using data processing tools and statistical software for data interpretation and presentation.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing mass spectrometry methods for specific applications such as proteomics or environmental analysis is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mass spectrometry data analysis software, such as MassLynx or Xcalibur, is a plus.
  • Experience in teamwork and project management within a matrix organization, preferably at a regional level.
  • A collaborative team player willing to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Awareness of technological trends and their implications for the healthcare sector.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is typically required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a scientific laboratory environment, particularly in the diagnostics industry, with significant expertise in quantitative mass spectrometry.
  • Practical experience in delivering application training and support is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of Mass Spectrometry systems and assays.
  • Strong commercial insight demonstrated through previous successes in sales, marketing, or operational roles.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively towards organizational objectives.
  • Good aptitude for engaging with diverse cultural groups.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with outstanding presentation and training abilities.
