Job Title: Senior Application Consultant for Molecular Lab

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Consultant to join our team at Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific. As a key member of our Application and Consulting team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and service for our Sequencing Lab portfolio. Your expertise will be essential in establishing and retaining customer loyalty, providing advice and troubleshooting on improving application results for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Molecular Lab business team and a network of affiliate application teams through the Asia Pacific network.
  • Provide technical customer support and service for the Sequencing Lab portfolio.
  • Establish and retain customer loyalty by answering inquiries about experimental design, the scientific characteristics of our products, and providing advice/troubleshooting on improving application results for NGS.
  • Proactively utilize information and internal resources to aid in the resolution of technical issues.
  • Synthesize responses to inquiries based on research, literature, and laboratory experimentation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to users' technical skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software, and instruments.
  • Interpret affiliates' needs and identify proper issue escalation pathways.
  • Align and develop application training plans with stakeholders in Global and APAC affiliates.

Requirements:

  • Experience in sequencing laboratory discipline, including sample preparation, workflow, and target capture.
  • Experience in teamwork and project management in a matrix organization, preferably a regional structure.
  • A great team player with a willingness for overseas travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Familiarity with technological trends and their relevance to the healthcare industry.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree with at least 5 years of lab experience in biochemistry, molecular biopsy, genetic biotechnology, or an appropriate biological or biomedical science field.
  • PRACTICAL application experience in providing application trainings and support in experimental design, troubleshooting, and NGS wet lab experience (library prep, PCR, and target enrichment).
  • Familiar with bioinformatics software, methodologies, and NGS applications in oncology.
  • Solid commercial acumen, which can be demonstrated by previous success in bringing the benefits of sales, marketing, or operational experience to solve business issues or capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team towards corporate goals.
  • Good aptitude for working with diverse cultural groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding presentation and training skills.

Location: Singapore is the preferred location, however, other locations within Asia Pacific may be considered for short-term measures.
