Job Summary
We are seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Investment Banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering IB verticals within Global Banking and partnering with the Asia IB CCO teams, leads, and regional risk teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with IB South Asia Head and IB CCO Asia Pacific, and product heads to facilitate the provision of timely and insightful business performance data that supports strategy execution, based on globally consistent metrics and data sources, and informed by local market dynamics and local geopolitical developments.
- Oversee the effectiveness of Group, Global Banking, and MSS aligned support and control functions for IB, including offshore, third-party operations, business continuity, and resilience.
- Ensure a robust operational risk environment regionally, where the business operates in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, ensure compliance with regulatory mandated local variances, and apply appropriate and effective governance frameworks.
- Drive the adoption of globally consistent policies, procedures, and practices, including the adoption of common Information Technology systems.
- Promote a positive people agenda across IB, one that results in a culture and behaviours that embody the company's purpose, values, and conduct pillars.
- When required, engage appropriately with regulators on behalf of IB, in full partnership with Regulatory Compliance and relevant Global Banking and Group colleagues.
- Foster a culture that drives continuous improvement and business innovation, constructively challenging outdated and inefficient practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrated business knowledge of IB products & coverage, and its clients.
- Knowledge of the external environment, regulatory, political, competitor, and market.
- Well-developed capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesize key themes and issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capacity to work with and influence senior teams and ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Strong technical, financial analysis, and analytical skills.
- Excellent English language capabilities both written and oral.
- Strong presentation skills, ability to develop clear and succinct presentations and reports for senior management and governance forums.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, filter information, and prioritize multiple demands.
- Comfortable and at ease with working in a matrix environment.
