Overview

The Executive Sales Director will be responsible for leading the sales team at The Standard Hotel, driving revenue growth and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Job Description:

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Achieve daily and monthly targeted sales activities with effectiveness.
  • Develop business leads for the hotel on a weekly basis.
  • Research and prepare monthly lists of key account acquisition to target.
  • Plan site inspections and entertainment meetings to qualified potential accounts or new accounts.
  • Solicit new and existing corporate/consortia/lifestyle & luxury accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Attend hotel clients and local community business events to network and maintain high visibility.
  • Up-sell, cross-sell, and promote hotel facilities & services at every available opportunity to maximize sales revenue.
  • Attend overseas trade shows, key client events, FAM trips, and sales trips as planned and approved.

Customer Service:

  • Update management and relevant departments on VIP arrivals and meet and greet accordingly.
  • Share guest profiles with reservations and front office teams to ensure maximum GEM (Guest Engagement Management).
  • Host site inspections and FAM trips to deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback as necessary to heads of department.
  • Handle guest and internal customer complaints and enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.

Financial:

  • Prepare monthly action plans for main market segments and implement account development plans for key accounts to achieve maximum revenue in both short and long term.
  • Be fully responsible for accounts under management to achieve financial and non-financial objectives, including contracting, updating profiles, and renewing contracts.
  • Conduct negotiations to achieve the best profit and rates for The Standard, Singapore.
  • Work closely with Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management to ensure pricing strategy across market segments aligns with revenue targets.
  • Assist in preparing the Annual Business Plan relevant to your market segments.
  • Attend yield meetings and strategic meetings to develop and adjust sales strategies, short-term pricing, and channel tactics.

Operational:

  • Perform monthly reviews of account profiles on room nights production and average rate.
  • Monitor competitors' rate strategies, account penetration, and marketing activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Update DOSM/DOM/DOR on market trends and business leads, including compset trends.
  • Ensure all account profiles, sales reports, and other relevant information are updated in the CRM system.

Other Duties:

  • Identify and communicate ideas and customer expectations from assigned segments and territory.
  • Aware of community, business, political, and social factors affecting the hotel's financial performance.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with colleagues and departments.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to dress code and personal appearance standards.
  • Support and uphold The Standard's Corporate Mission and Values in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity with proven track records in a 5-star/Lifestyle hotel.
  • Bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal, reading, and written communication skills.
  • A strong network of contacts within the Corporate, Consortia travel market segment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems and preferred but not essential Opera and CRM systems.
  • Customer-centric with a focus on providing guests with a positive experience.
  • A track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • A team player and builder.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, and colleagues.
