Job Title: Healthcare Food Service Director

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality food services within a healthcare environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Food Service Operations Management: Lead and manage food & beverage operations to ensure timely, safe, and efficient meal service.
  • Culinary Menu Development: Develop menus that cater to patients', staff's, and visitors' nutritional, dietary, and cultural needs.
  • Service Excellence: Monitor daily operations to maintain service excellence, efficiency, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant food hygiene and workplace safety standards, including regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Inspection: Oversee audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
  • Corrective Action Planning: Implement corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Team Supervision: Lead, train, and supervise food service and support staff, promoting teamwork and a positive working culture.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance reviews and develop staff through training programs.
  • Motivation and Support: Motivate and support staff to deliver excellent service under pressure.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with hospital administration, healthcare professionals, and external service providers to align food service operations with patient care priorities.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between the hospital management and catering teams, addressing service feedback and implementing improvements.

Financial and Administrative Management:

  • Budget Planning: Oversee budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation for food service operations.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance and manage procurement of food and beverage supplies.
  • Contractual Compliance: Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and compliance with contractual obligations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in hospitality, food service management, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
