Genetic Counsellor Job Description

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Genetic Counsellor to deliver comprehensive genetic counselling services for patients referred to our cardiovascular genetics service. This role involves managing patient intakes, analysing genetic variants, coordinating testing processes, and providing clear counselling guidance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and ethical practice.

  • Provide expert genetic counselling services to patients and families.
  • Manage patient intakes, including data collection and analysis.
  • Coordinate testing processes, including DNA sequencing and other diagnostic tests.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Genetic Counselling (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years' relevant clinical experience with demonstrated competency in genetic counselling.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in MS Office, databases, presentations, and pedigree drawing software.
