**Genetic Counsellor Role**

The role of a Genetic Counsellor is pivotal in the delivery of care to patients with personal or family histories of birth defects or genetic disorders.

  • Conduct comprehensive intake of information from patients, create detailed pedigree charts, obtain relevant medical histories, and present pertinent information to healthcare teams.
  • Apply knowledge of genetics and genetic disorders to effectively communicate complex information to patients.
  • IDentify family dynamics and emotional responses from patients.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
