About the Department
Relationship Management (Transaction Banking) - Treasury & Cash Management is responsible for strengthening the firm's relationships with existing accounts, and driving continuous service improvements with ultimate focus on business retention. Develops the strategy, processes, and delivery measurement for service among all functional areas responsible for delivering to clients. Transaction Banking covers activities related to treasury and cash management, and trade financing for governments and corporates. Services include financing activities that facilitate cross-border trade, cash transfer, and the maintenance and processing of payables and receivables. The Treasury & Cash Management focus specializes in providing client cash flow management services and solutions, including checking and savings accounts, working capital management, funds transfer, client lockbox, tax payments and reporting, and clearing. Manages payables, receivables, liquidity, and investment.
Corporate & Commercial Banking covers activities related to providing banking loan products and advice to institutions ranging from small to mid-sized businesses, to the largest corporations. Includes major market middle market corporate banking, business banking, and corporate and transaction banking.
Job Responsibilities
• Drive cash management products and services, as well as liabilities base initiatives
• Formulate and execute Cash Management Strategies in Singapore and regionally that are designed to grow our transaction fees and interest income. Primary consideration is to capture and retain operating accounts with payables and receivables flows and capture an equitable share of wallet through cross-sell.
• Work closely with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers by providing product advisory, designing of solutions and winning cash management mandates / deals
• Own the end-to-end cash management sales process from opportunity identification, designing and positioning the solutions to clients, winning the sales mandate, documentation and implementation of the deal
• Lead in responding to all Requests for Information (RFIs) / Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Cash Management services for the Commercial Banking portfolio. In this respect, you will coordinate with all key internal stakeholders in formulating responses / designing solutions that are both critical and or pertinent to the RFIs and RFPs.
• Participate actively in pipeline reviews with the objective of tracking sales activities, provide deals status updates, escalating issues, share successes (with objective of replication of success) and lessons learnt
• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Banking Relationship Managers on joint sales call, account planning / wallet sizing, sales strategy / plan
• Originate and lead initiatives relating to mass selling/marketing efforts targeting but not limited to specific industries, associations, malls, anchors, events, speaking engagements etc.
• Coordinate and interact with Marketing, Product, Relationship Managers etc and other business units to create product bundles, campaigns for mass selling purposes.
Job Requirements
• Minimally a recognised degree in a relevant field
• More than 5-8 years of transaction banking experience in sales position focusing on Cash Management Sales. Past experience servicing the Commercial Banking or Corporate Banking segments is a plus.
• Conversant in cash management and liquidity management solutions, both at the domestic and regional level
• Good working knowledge of working capital solutions and ability to articulate value propositions from a working capital perspective
• Possess working knowledge of electronic banking delivery, Host-to-Host solutions, ERP, TMS and SWIFT
