Roles & Responsibilities

Salling Search is currently recruiting an Global Head Of Country Offices for an international container shipping company to be based in Singapore.

Only candidates who have the below skills and candidates who are based in Singapore will be considered for this role. For this role, it is a must that you have the following skills, traits or past experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Balanced Scorecards and benchmark all owned Agencies; continually evaluate the key performance metrics
  • Participate in the monthly performance reviews and drive the actions thereof
  • Support the Agencies across Line functions and Support functions (PE/BA/GPC) on improvement initiatives
  • Drive the bi-annual or annual review of local charges and demurrage tariffs
  • Support the transition of 3rd party agents to owned agencies through a robust plan that considers all options, local regulations, timelines, and dependencies
  • Support the expansion to new markets by identifying, interviewing, and appointment of potential 3rd party agents
  • Support the implementation of Processes and Tools in agencies together with the Support functions (PE/BA/GPC) and Line functions
  • Work closely with the Finance team in moving the owned agencies to a cost-plus model
  • Support the agency heads in continually reviewing their organization, key roles, and overall competencies
  • Identify cross-functional requirements for vendor and partner outreach locally and work with the agency heads to increase visibility

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • Preferably PR or local
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience from shipping agencies, on a regional or a global role.
  • Strong understanding of shipping operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in financial analysis, business forecasting, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
