Head, Strategic Communications Office
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore, an esteemed arts institution with a global reputation seeks an innovative and dynamic leader to join our team as Head of Strategic Communications to propel the academy towards even greater international recognition.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the academy’s brand positioning and communications strategy, strengthen corporate marketing strategies and publicity efforts shaping its identity as a leader in arts education, nurturing artistic and creative excellence, and a champion of social impact. You should have an understanding of the arts/education sector, exceptional storytelling abilities and a passion for advancing the mission of arts education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Strategy: Lead branding initiatives to enhance NAFA’s story and brand identity; and ensure that internal and external communication is conducted in a consistent manner to build and enhance the NAFA brand as an eminent arts education institution in Southeast Asia, with a unique cradle-to-grey pathway.
2. Branding and Corporate Communications: Provide leadership, direction and guidance for branding and communication efforts across platforms including traditional media, social media, media, website, publications, and corporate gifts, with the aim of driving student enrolment by strengthening the NAFA “Courage to Create” narrative.
Lead and guide the team to manage and execute other corporate communication functions such as media relations and outreach, crisis communication, industry and stakeholder engagement activities, executive speeches and provide advice for VIP events and protocol.
3. Marketing Strategies and Student Enrolment: Work with the team in formulating and executing marketing strategies to drive student enrolment, especially in tertiary programmes, enhance NAFA’s profile, promote greater awareness of the academy’s developments, capabilities and accomplishments to strengthen its position as an arts institution of choice in Southeast Asia and beyond.
4. Budgeting: Plan and manage the department’s financial budgets; as well as establish and maintain department policies and procedures.
5. Performance Measurement: Leverage data analysis to enhance the brand and drive growth and enrolment through refining of overall marketing and branding strategies and optimise performance over time.
Qualifications
1. Minimally a Degree in Business, Marketing, Mass Communications or a good degree in any other discipline, with at least 12 years of managerial experience in branding, marketing, or corporate communications.
2. Motivated team player with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Experience in working with creative agencies, education institutions and/or arts and creative industries will be an advantage.
4. Proven experience with digital and traditional communications platforms.
