Centre for Lifelong Learning and IndividualisedCognition CLIC is a research collaboration between theUniversity of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU)and hosted by the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research andEducation in Singapore (CARES) that aims to developneuroscience-based interventions for lifelong flexible learning.Launched in October 2020 and funded by the National ResearchFoundation Singapore, CLIC brings together a multidisciplinary teamof psychologists, neuroscientists, linguists and educators whoconduct innovative research in the science oflearning.

The world of today is constantlyevolving to keep pace with advances in technology andglobalisation, requiring individuals to adapt and develop newskills to ensure resilience through a culture of lifelong flexiblelearning. Mental flexibility is required in order to adapt tochange, problem-solve creatively in new situations and make themost of opportunities including emerging career opportunities. Thecapacity for cognitive flexibility is thus central to the moderndigital age and our education system needs innovation to ensurecitizens are equipped to develop these future skills. For example,major global challenges, including climate change, renewableenergy, and food security, will require novel and creativeapproaches and solutions.

CLIC researchers aredeveloping a neuroscience-based model of flexible learning,including important social contextual factors, in order to informthe design of practical, real-life interventions for use in schoolsand the workplace. This will ensure that individuals are not onlyprepared for future career success, but also have a good quality oflife and wellbeing, thus supporting a flourishingsociety.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Conductingliterature review
  • Conductinginterviews
  • Liaising with schoolpersonnel
  • Survey construction, evaluation, andadministration
  • Assist in quantitative andqualitative processing and analysis
  • Project anddata management, maintain researchrecords
  • Collect primary data, responsible fordata coding and entry
  • Reportpreparation
  • Assisting in the analysis offindings
  • Other research related tasks asassigned by the PrincipalInvestigator


JobRequirements:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in psychology with a background in cognition, emotion, orrelated field.
  • Experience in conducting,collecting data for and analysing surveys, psychological testing(computerised), behavioural testing and cognitiveexperiments
  • Experience in conducting literaturereviews and writing academic reports
  • Experiencewith statistical analysis using SPSS and/or Rlanguage
  • Good ICTskills
  • Good communication skills and otherinterpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizationalskills and able to work effectively withindeadlines
  • Experience preparing reports,protocols, presentations and manuscripts withguidance
  • Interest in research at theintersection of neuroscience, social science, education, andcognition
  • Excellent time management andorganizational skills.
