Job Overview

The Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition (CLIC) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant to support our team in the development of neuroscience-based interventions for lifelong flexible learning.

CLIC is a research collaboration between the University of Cambridge and NTU, hosted by the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES). Our mission is to develop innovative solutions to improve cognitive flexibility and learning in individuals from diverse backgrounds. We are committed to advancing the field of neuroscience and education through interdisciplinary research and collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Management: Assist in the recruitment of participants, collection, and organization of datasets related to cognitive flexibility and learning.
  • Research Activities: Support research projects focusing on human neuroimaging, language, infant cognition/learning, and pedagogy.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with the preparation of conference presentations, journal papers, and other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Prior experience conducting adult cognitive testing and neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG), participant recruitment processes, data management protocols, and ethical regulatory frameworks in Singapore.
  • Skills: Good statistical knowledge and skills, including familiarity with statistical analysis software such as R and SPSS; good IT skills (Office); strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions and Salary

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of SGD $60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be offered a contract for one year, with potential opportunities for reappointment. Working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with regular breaks and paid annual leave.
