Centre for Lifelong Learning and IndividualisedCognition CLIC is a research collaboration between theUniversity of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU)and hosted by the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research andEducation in Singapore (CARES) that aims to developneuroscience-based interventions for lifelong flexible learning.Launched in October 2020 and funded by the National ResearchFoundation Singapore, CLIC brings together a multidisciplinary teamof psychologists, neuroscientists, linguists and educators whoconduct innovative research in the science oflearning.

The position is based in Singapore andthe role is expected to develop the international collaboration ofCARES and expand the CLIC goals in cognitive neuroscience leadingto growth on the fields of scholarship as it enters this excitingnew phase. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis until30th September 2026 in line with the funding grant end date, withthe possibility of an extension subject to securing grant fundingfor the continuation of theproject.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Collaborateactively within and outside the institutions to complete researchprojects and advance thinking.
  • To extend,transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to researchand appropriate external activities.
  • Write orcontribute to publications or disseminate research findings usingother appropriate media.
  • To assess, interpretand evaluate outcomes of research.
  • Makepresentations at conferences or exhibit work in other appropriateevents.
  • Routinely communicate complex andconceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understandingas well as to peers using high level skills and a range ofmedia.
  • Mentor colleagues with less experienceand advise on personal development.
  • Coach,train and support colleagues in developing their researchtechniques.
  • To carry out or contribute toappraisals as appropriate.
  • To supervise orco-supervise otherresearchers.


JobRequirements:
  • PhDspecialising either in experimental psychology, behavioraleconomics, social psychology, cognitive psychology,neuropsychology, neuroscience (basic, cognitive or computational),organizational behavior, linguistics, education orbiopsychology.
  • At least three years ofpostdoctoral research experience at the level of Research Fellow,or equivalent experience
  • Possess sufficientbreadth/depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and ofresearch methods and techniques to develop research objectives,projects and proposals.
  • A developingbibliography of research publications.
  • A trackrecord of securing research funding
  • Willing totake a leading role in the coordination and co-supervision ofresearch students
  • An interdisciplinary andcollaborative research approach.
  • Willingness toundertake management and administrativeduties.
  • Will continually update knowledge inthe specialist area and engage in continuing professionaldevelopment.
  • Experience in managing ownworkload.
