The Role:

Essence is seeking an Ad Technology Manager to become an integral part of our Data & Tech team.

Our team is responsible for the design of ad tech solution architecture and support integration, testing and implementation for all platforms that enable data strategies.

We provide consultancy to our clients and colleagues and are at the center of all things tech within the agency.

Our team is structured to provide a tailored approach that is both flexible and adaptable to align to our clients needs.


Some of the things we'd like you to do:

  • Support team leadership by collaborating with team members on the continual assessment of the ad technology landscape, and support the testing of different products
  • including ad delivery, ad verification, and measurement by providing guidance on how to continually improve operational processes, supporting systems and communication channels where needed.
  • Act as a strategic partner within account teams; providing consultation to clients on the correct setup of campaigns, provide tag strategy, design, creation and implementation tracking tags on clients' sites, and the use of ad technologies to meet client needs.
  • Serve as a strategic partner for interdepartmental questions; attend internal meetings providing updates or consultation as needed.
  • Continually Identifying technology measurement gaps and limitations within Google products and campaigns, assisting in the development of custom solution tracking.
  • Present in internal team meetings and participate in client meetings on an ad hoc basis.
  • Project manage and drive ownership of several internal large initiatives
  • Support client deliverables and projects on an adhoc basis.
  • Play a supportive role providing training and motivating junior team members to strive for excellence.
  • Act as an ambassador of ad technology across the agency. Train new starters and continually educate teams on recent developments; building advocacy across the agency.

A bit about yourself:

  • 3+ years' experience in ad technology & operations
  • Computer literate with superior knowledge of Excel and a strong interest in internet technologies and media
  • Basic knowledge of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript or PHP.
  • Diligent with a strong attention to detail and able to deliver projects effectively and efficiently
  • Strong problemsolver who is always keen to find "a better way"
  • An active interest in everything digital, ideally with an understanding of online advertising industry trends
  • A selfstarter with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Able to multitask, prioritise and manage expectations
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Thorough and investigative with the ability to identify 'sales speak' vs real benefits of a technology
  • Able to develop relationships and motivate suppliers and internal team members
  • Desire to learn and be part of a dynamic growing team
  • A GMP expert with knowledge of linking accounts between SA360, GA360, CM360, and GA360. Big Query functional knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the privacy landscape changes to browsers (ITP, ETP, Chrome Privacy Sandbox), app updates (SKAN or Android Privacy Sandbox), attribution without IDs and how the industry adapts.
  • Experience of working with CM360, Sizmek, AdForm and other 3rd party ad servers
  • Good knowledge of data management platform types (e.g. Site Analytics, MMP, DMP, CDP), core functionality and how to deploy to extract value for clients
  • Good knowledge of cloudbased platforms/infrastructure (e.g. GCP, BQ, AWS, data clean rooms) and the role they play in facilitating Data & Tech services
  • Good familiarity with and ability to use data visualization/BI platforms (e.g. Data Studio) to create basic, no/lowcode data visualizations/dashboards
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, SQL, Python, and SDKs a plus
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
