The NationalInstitute of Education invites suitable candidates to join theAsian Languages & Cultures (ALC) Department as aManager.
Responsibilities:
- Providesecretarial support to Head/ALC and members of the ALC SeniorManagement Committee (SMC).
- Provide supervisionto 2 MSOs and oversee matters related to their workareas.
- Provide administrative support toHead/ALC and department staff, planning and coordinating facultyrecruitment, contract renewals, promotion & tenure processesand year-end review exercise.
- Oversee financialmatters, such as annual budget and workplan submission, half-yearlyfinancial reporting, monthly vetting of Vote Control Register,endorsement of Purchase Requests, approval of claims etc. in thedepartment.
- Oversee examination-relatedmatters, such as submission of question papers, marks and appealfor marks review in the department.
- Collateinformation required by other admindepartments.
- Serve as the department's PDPAChampion.
- Support key events such as theTeachers' Investiture Ceremony (TIC) and/or NTUConvocation.
- Identify and implementenhancements to streamline the work processes in thedepartment.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties asassigned.
Requirements:
- AUniversity degree, preferably in BusinessStudies.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience,with some supervisory experience.
- Goodcommunication skills, both written andoral.
- Meticulous and high attention todetails.
- Resourceful, self-driven, proactive,strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to workindependently.
- Good organisational and planningskills.
- A good team player who works well withvarious stakeholders.
- Ability to work wellunder pressure and within tightdeadlines.
- Adaptable tochange.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplications, especially Word andExcel.
- Familiarity with digital tools and anability to leverage technology for processoptimisation.
