Key Responsibilities:
1.Application Support:
oProvide second and third-level support for Java-based applications.
oDiagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
oMonitor application performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Tools usage and scripting would be added advantage.
2.Troubleshooting:
oAnalyze, identify, and resolve complex software issues.
oDebug and troubleshoot Java code to fix defects and performance issues.
oUtilize logs, monitoring tools, and other diagnostic methods to identify root causes.
3.Collaboration:
oWork closely with development teams to understand application functionalities and dependencies.
oCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and Product Management, to resolve issues and improve applications.
oCommunicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to provide updates and resolutions.
4.Development and Maintenance:
oParticipate in the development and deployment of application updates and enhancements.
oWrite and maintain documentation for application support processes and procedures.
oContribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application support and performance.
5.Incident and Problem Management:
oManage and prioritize incident tickets and service requests.
oEscalate critical issues to appropriate teams and ensure timely resolution.
oConduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for preventing future incidents.
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development and application support.
•Technical Skills:
oProficiency in Java and Java EE technologies.
oUnderstanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (Spring, Hibernate).
oExperience with databases (SQL, Oracle, MySQL) and writing complex queries.
oFamiliarity with version control systems (Git, SVN).
oKnowledge of application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic) would be advantage.
oExperience with monitoring tools and logging frameworks.
