A General Manager of Business Development is a senior leadership role focused on driving revenue growth and market expansion through strategic initiatives . This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, developing sales strategies, and overseeing the implementation of business development plans. They also manage and mentor a team, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends.
- Develop new business and expand existing accounts.
- Create and execute sales strategies with accurate forecasts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new market opportunities, aligning with overall company objectives.
· Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, analyze market trends, and assess competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
· Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business partnerships.
· Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and market share, including pricing strategies and product/service expansions.
· Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate and close deals with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms and outcomes.
· Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, fostering a growth-oriented environment and ensuring high performance standards.
· Collaboration and Communication: Work with various departments, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
· Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse key performance indicators and the effectiveness of business development initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development related to industrial products or solution sales (Diploma/Degree/Engineering)
· Proven track record in leading sales and technical initiatives across regional markets.
· Strong financial acumen with experience analysing, Projects, cash flow, and finical organising.
· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
