Quality Assurance Executive

KFC & Pizza Hut Singapore

Department: Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

As part of the Supply Chain Management team, the Quality Assurance Executive plays a key role in safeguarding the quality, safety, and Halal compliance of our products and restaurants. This role is unique — combining product and restaurant quality assurance with Halal compliance management to uphold the highest standards for KFC & Pizza Hut Singapore, in alignment with YUM Brands global standards.

You will also work closely with the Procurement, Food Innovation and Operations Teams, ensuring that suppliers, products, and processes consistently meet brand, regulatory, and Halal requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Product Quality Management

  • Conduct product cuttings and evaluations on core ingredients in line with YUM Brand Standards and Quality Requirements.
  • Support testing of alternative ingredients and packaging materials to assess impact on recipes and processes.
  • Assist in sensory evaluations of alternative core ingredients.

2. Restaurant Quality Management

  • Carry out restaurant food safety compliance checks on critical outlets and support the overall food safety audit program in line with YUM Brands standards.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to product quality and food safety, liaising with suppliers for corrective actions where needed.
  • Conduct training sessions for restaurant teams on product quality, food hygiene, and YUM food safety requirements.

3. Regulatory, Halal & YUM Compliance

  • Assist in maintaining valid Halal certifications for outlets, products, and key ingredients.
  • Verify supplier and product documentation for compliance with MUIS Halal Standards, YUM Brands guidelines, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal Halal audits for restaurants and strategic partners when required.
  • Support the upkeep of accurate allergy and nutrition information across Brand menus in compliance with YUM Nutrition & Allergen guidelines.

4. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of MUIS Halal Standards, YUM Brands standards, food safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience in both Quality Assurance and Halal Assurance will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and one Mother Tongue language.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in food quality assurance, Halal compliance, or related fields (fresh graduates with relevant knowledge are welcome).
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities; a strong team player.
