Job Purpose

The Chromatography Specialist (Sales) is responsible for driving sales growth of chromatography instruments, consumables, and related solutions by providing technical expertise, building strong customer relationships, and identifying opportunities across pharmaceutical, chemical, environmental, food safety, and academic research markets. The role bridges deep application knowledge with consultative selling to deliver value-added solutions for customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Development

  • Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities for chromatography systems (e.g., GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS) and consumables.

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue goals in assigned territories or market segments.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand market share.

  • Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, and demonstrations.

2. Technical Consultation and Support

  • Provide pre-sales technical guidance and solution recommendations tailored to customer applications.

  • Collaborate with application scientists to deliver proof-of-concept and sample analysis services.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chromatography techniques, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to post-sales follow-up.

  • Address customer concerns promptly, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.

4. Market Intelligence and Reporting

  • Gather market trends, competitor intelligence, and customer feedback to inform business strategies.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and activity updates for management.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing teams to plan promotional events, seminars, and workshops.

  • Liaise with service engineers and technical support teams to ensure seamless installation and after-sales support.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in chromatography applications, technical sales, or scientific instrumentation.

  • Hands-on experience with GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS systems preferred.

  • Strong understanding of analytical workflows in target industries.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with method development or troubleshooting chromatography systems.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, or food safety.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
