The Principal Orchestration Engineer, DDS shall drive the implementation of digitalization strategy for Group Networks SG which aims to loosen the IT architecture, increase organisational agility and enable an API driven digital ecosystem for our Network capabilities.

His/her main responsibility is to lead and deliver the various key network capabilities such as Service Orchestration (SO) and Entitlements Service (ES). This will include responsibilities such as building up the internal technical teams, advocating new technology adoption, product ownership, project management, vendor management, and operation service management.

He/she shall also work closely with the Network Service Bus (NSB) team within the department to align the technical architecture as well as expose the new network capabilities via APIs. He/she shall explore new technologies related to network slicing, esim, service assurance, or operation support services to introduce as new network capabilities for exposure.

In addition, he/she shall manage and align the various teams/stakeholders including top management to remove roadblocks and gather support to ensure the delivery of the various initiatives/capabilities is cost effective, timely, and secure.

Lastly, he/she is also in charge of the operational excellence for the components/systems that are in production, ensuring that these components are operating reliably in accordance with the network's service level agreement with proactive monitoring and reporting.

Make an Impact by:

  • Defining the technical architecture for the various key network capabilities with alignment to the Enterprise Architecture team, overseeing compliance to meet high availability, performance, and security requirements. Proactively identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and architecture simplification for the platforms/services/products.
  • Researching and exploring new technologies in software development and automation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing (hybrid/multi/edge) for incorporation into the solution/architecture for NaaS to achieve continuous improvement of the platforms/services/products.
  • Managing and aligning the various teams/stakeholders including top management to ensure the delivery of the various key network capabilities.
  • Working closely with the business to gather requirements and prioritize them for the various teams to deliver.
  • Aligning with other internal teams within the organization to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance, security, and operability in mind.
  • Managing and chairing project steering committee meetings and other project management activities such as finance/budgeting and procurement activities.
  • Overseeing operation service management for the various network capabilities that are in production, ensuring that these components are operating reliably in accordance with the network's service level agreement with proactive monitoring and reporting.
  • Managing change management by ensuring that software releases are aligned with the organization's internal change management and software release and deployment process, including using automation to improve the frequency and quality of the software release cycle.
  • Managing incident management by facilitating and leading troubleshooting or root cause analysis of platform issues or incidents with own teams and other internal teams, including managing cyber security incidents and patch management for the various platforms/systems.
  • Participating and supporting in the Annual Operating Planning (AOP) and strategy for the division and Group Networks.

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in the telecommunications industry with experience in project delivery.
  • Working experience in the telecommunications domain with a strong understanding of 4G/5G networks and esim-related technologies.
  • Working experience in leading and managing projects using Agile methodology (such as SCRUM/KANBAN) and using related tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Working experience in project planning and management activities, including financial and procurement.
  • Working experience in business requirements analysis and translating them to the team for implementation and delivery.
  • Working experience in service management of projects or products in production environments.
  • Good understanding of cloud computing/container deployment and management.
  • Good understanding of software development.
