Job PurposeValvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Manager, Talent Management, APAC reporting directly to the Director of Global Talent Management. This is a hybrid opportunity, 2 days remote per week. The role advances Valvoline Global’s talent and leadership development strategy worldwide, combining strategic business partnering with the design and execution of enterprise-wide talent initiatives, leadership development programs, and succession management efforts. The Manager collaborates with HR business partners, senior leaders, and stakeholders to develop a high-performing workforce and a robust talent pipeline for VGO’s future.
How You Make An Impact- Strategic Business Partnering
- Collaborate with business leaders to assess current and future talent gaps and develop actionable strategies to address these gaps.
- Provide guidance on talent trends and market intelligence to inform leadership decision-making.
- Advise leadership on integrating talent initiatives into strategic plans to align with organizational goals.
- Serve as a key resource for leadership during organizational changes, guiding them through talent-related challenges and opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze global talent trends, benchmarking best practices, and using competitive intelligence to keep Valvoline’s talent strategies innovative.
- Global Program Design & Delivery
- Assess and identify learning and development needs of diverse global teams, ensuring content is culturally relevant and regionally adaptable.
- Foster continuous feedback to improve program design and delivery in line with business and learner needs.
- Use data and analytics to measure program effectiveness and optimize impact.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and leadership development across the organization.
- Leverage COE insights to inform program design and ensure alignment with broader goals.
- Analyze data from talent processes (e.g., performance reviews, succession planning) to refine programs and drive better outcomes.
- Talent & Succession Management
- Lead the execution of a comprehensive global talent strategy aligned with long-term business needs.
- Foster an inclusive talent process that identifies and nurtures diverse leadership talent across all levels.
- Oversee succession planning for critical roles to maintain a steady leadership pipeline.
- Use assessments and data-driven insights to address talent gaps and development needs.
- Coaching and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
- Lead one-on-one coaching for senior leaders and high-potential talent to accelerate growth.
- Work with managers to develop IDPs for their teams and integrate IDPs into performance management.
- Regularly evaluate progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous development.
- Global Project Leadership
- Lead and support global talent initiatives across learning, leadership development, succession planning, performance management, career management, team effectiveness, and change management.
- Manage large-scale talent projects with cross-functional teams and ensure timely execution.
- Develop project plans and coordinate stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Identify and address roadblocks early and conduct post-project evaluations to assess impact.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Talent Management, Leadership Development, or Organizational Development in a global, matrixed environment.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering leadership programs and blended learning solutions.
- Strong background in succession planning, coaching, and talent development.
- University degree, preferably a Master’s in Human Resources or a related field.
- Familiarity with learning technologies (e.g., LMS, performance/talent platforms).
- Experience leading global projects with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across cultures and geographies.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin, Thai, or other Asian languages is an added advantage.
- Experience leading and supporting a small team.
- Coaching certification and familiarity with tools like DISC/MBTI/Insights is a plus.
- Strategic Talent Leadership – Develops and delivers transformative talent strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Global Talent Development – Identifies and develops high-potential leaders globally to sustain leadership pipelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partners across geographies, functions, and levels to drive execution.
- Coaching & Development Excellence – Provides impactful coaching to leaders at all levels.
- Results-Driven Execution – Focuses on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement of talent processes.
- Based in a climate-controlled corporate office; global role with cross-time-zone collaboration.
- Travel up to 30% may be required for program delivery and leadership development activities.
