Programme Coordinator (HIP-on-Wheels Programme) – Presbyterian Community Social Services (PCS)
HIP-on-Wheels Programme is an Active Ageing Centre programme made mobile for senior citizens.
Responsibilities- Outreach and engagement of seniors within service boundary
- Active ageing programme
- Befriending and Buddying
- Care and support services
- Liaise with external agencies, organisations, donors, volunteers, etc., to access external resources and publicise programmes. Provide information and referral services to clients.
- Programme Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement outreach plan to seniors
- Develop and implement annual calendar plan of social and health activities for seniors
- Ensure programmes and activities meet performance indicators and operating guidelines issued by relevant agencies (e.g., Agency for Integrated Care), administer CSQ, prepare half-yearly progress reports, and manage outcomes
- Conduct needs assessment surveys if necessary
- Initiate a case record file for every elderly household in identified blocks and capture seniors' needs
- Establish and motivate seniors to be active, healthy, interdependent and purposeful
- Ensure activities and programmes promote a community climate of multi-racial tolerance, harmony and cooperation among residents
- Network with other agencies to establish additional avenues of help for seniors' welfare
- Alert Alarm System: Oversee and manage the Alert Alarm System (AAS) during centre operating hours, providing assistance as needed
- Establish a system to manage the AAS outside operating hours, including staff recall when necessary
- Volunteer Development: establish networks with local community-based services/resources to engage volunteers to support programmes and outreach efforts
- Recruit, interview and screen potential volunteers
- Provide and coordinate orientation of volunteers to their roles and the centre's mission
- Place volunteers to suitable positions and areas of need (e.g., administration of CSQ)
- Supervise and support volunteers
- Establish a system of recognition for volunteers
- Review and evaluate the volunteer programme to ensure relevance and future needs
- Serve as the key communication link between the centre and its volunteers
- Finance and Accounts: manage monthly petty cash and implement controls to ensure proper accounting records and safeguard assets
- Training and Development of Personnel: lead, motivate and train junior personnel
- Administrative Duties: provide secretariat support to the Division of Senior Services
- Undertake any other duties as required
- Islandwide work location
- Minimum GCE A' Levels or Diploma in social service or related discipline, with a social service background
- Possess driving license is advantageous
