Overview

Programme Coordinator (HIP-on-Wheels Programme) – Presbyterian Community Social Services (PCS)

HIP-on-Wheels Programme is an Active Ageing Centre programme made mobile for senior citizens.

Responsibilities
  • Outreach and engagement of seniors within service boundary
  • Active ageing programme
  • Befriending and Buddying
  • Care and support services
  • Liaise with external agencies, organisations, donors, volunteers, etc., to access external resources and publicise programmes. Provide information and referral services to clients.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Programme Planning and Implementation
  • Develop and implement outreach plan to seniors
  • Develop and implement annual calendar plan of social and health activities for seniors
  • Ensure programmes and activities meet performance indicators and operating guidelines issued by relevant agencies (e.g., Agency for Integrated Care), administer CSQ, prepare half-yearly progress reports, and manage outcomes
  • Conduct needs assessment surveys if necessary
  • Initiate a case record file for every elderly household in identified blocks and capture seniors' needs
  • Establish and motivate seniors to be active, healthy, interdependent and purposeful
  • Ensure activities and programmes promote a community climate of multi-racial tolerance, harmony and cooperation among residents
  • Network with other agencies to establish additional avenues of help for seniors' welfare
  • Alert Alarm System: Oversee and manage the Alert Alarm System (AAS) during centre operating hours, providing assistance as needed
  • Establish a system to manage the AAS outside operating hours, including staff recall when necessary
  • Volunteer Development: establish networks with local community-based services/resources to engage volunteers to support programmes and outreach efforts
  • Recruit, interview and screen potential volunteers
  • Provide and coordinate orientation of volunteers to their roles and the centre's mission
  • Place volunteers to suitable positions and areas of need (e.g., administration of CSQ)
  • Supervise and support volunteers
  • Establish a system of recognition for volunteers
  • Review and evaluate the volunteer programme to ensure relevance and future needs
  • Serve as the key communication link between the centre and its volunteers
  • Finance and Accounts: manage monthly petty cash and implement controls to ensure proper accounting records and safeguard assets
  • Training and Development of Personnel: lead, motivate and train junior personnel
  • Administrative Duties: provide secretariat support to the Division of Senior Services
  • Undertake any other duties as required
  • Islandwide work location
Qualifications
  • Minimum GCE A' Levels or Diploma in social service or related discipline, with a social service background
  • Possess driving license is advantageous
