Job Description

What a Head of Digital Partnerships, AP does at Visa:

This role will be responsible for developing, executing, and leading, Visa’s Digital and Fintech Partnerships strategy across the region. This includes setting and driving the regional and in-country deal agenda with global, regional technology platforms and FinTech clients, while identifying deal opportunities that position Visa as the market leader. This person will lead a regional team of direct reports, as well as indirectly lead the FinTech activities and cluster FinTech leads across all 7 clusters in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities include building and running a vertical business unit, including the following:

  • Commercial Acumen
    • Set revenue targets for team members ensuring consistent finance and deal practices.
    • Lead the deal pipeline for strategic accounts, new fintech partners, and venture activities, including identification, structuring, negotiation, closing, and management.
    • Oversee account and relationship management, aligning sales plans with client's business objectives.
    • Continuously review market landscape, fostering relationships with emerging players and start-ups.
  • Consultative Selling & Product Knowledge
    • Champion a consultative selling approach, leveraging deep technical product knowledge across the entire suite, and working cross-functionally to create and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Develop and execute customized strategies and plans to increase revenue and market share for select strategic partner accounts, identifying opportunities through a strong understanding of the segment and customer's business needs.
    • Utilize Visa solutions across all product platforms to meet customer's business needs and create strategic opportunities
    • Develop and instill a programmatic process for new strategic fintech deals, serving as the central client coordination leader and fostering collaboration with the executive team.
  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management
    • Establish and foster strong relationships with external stakeholders (clients, partners & regulators) and within the Visa organization, promoting in-depth and productive interactions at all levels.
    • Lead the development, negotiation, and signing of deal proposals, working with various internal stakeholders to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan.
    • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship, and direction of the business, using these insights to guide the development of strategic partner relationships.
  • Thought Leadership / Mindset for Innovation / Strategic Thinking
    • Act as the spokesperson for driving partnerships within Visa and across the industry, leveraging your perspective to influence industry conversations.
    • Collaborate with the innovation team to recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow the client's business.

Qualifications

What you will need:
We are looking for an individual who brings strong leadership skills, exceptional maturity and attention to detail. With the ability to scale up knowledge in new areas and capabilities as they emerge, strength in connecting the dots and people in business challenges or opportunities. Along with the ability to effectively manage several urgent business priorities and significant regulatory developments simultaneously.

Qualifications
• 20+ years of experience including 10 years of commercial / sales leadership experience within the broader payments industry, or adjacent sectors where technology (digital / e and m-commerce) feature strongly.
• Demonstrated success developing strategy and leading it through to execution and delivery where the development and deployment of the digital and customer agenda has been a key driver of success.
• Strong track record of sales leadership developing and leading executive level client relationships and new business opportunities with key partners. Leveraging Visa’s products and services in order to build broader payments solutions.
• Strong B2B2C experience, with knowledge of expanding into new customer distribution channels.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, innovation and lead businesses in the capture, expansion / extension and retention of client relationships.
• Commercially astute and proven success growing a business in a high-growth / fast-paced environment meeting challenging financial and business targets.
• Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions.
• Proven ability to partner, manage / navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups.
• Able to work within a complex and often ambiguous environments, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties.
• Outstanding executive communications skills as a spokesperson for Partnerships within Visa and across the industry.
• Experience of working in a global matrix organization with the ability to navigate complex structures and empower decision-making locally.
• Experience of leading change programs within a business and has built and led a high performing team on a journey of cultural and transformational change.
