Regional Senior Vice President

The Regional Senior Vice President (Google Cloud) will be responsible for driving and owning the Google Cloud business within the financial services sector for the APAC market. This role involves building the business from the ground up, developing strategic initiatives, and executing growth plans tailored to the financial services industry.
The ideal candidate must have a deep network of connections within the Google Cloud, either directly from Google or through established Google Cloud partners, to leverage relationships and foster business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Owns and drives the growth of the Google Cloud business within the financial services sector, ensuring strategic alignment with market needs.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to build the Google Cloud business from the ground up in the APAC market.
- Leverages an extensive network of connections within Google Cloud, including direct relationships with Google and Google Cloud Partners, to foster business development and expansion.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, drive customer engagement, and deliver innovative cloud solutions tailored to financial services clients.
- Maintains knowledge of the technical specialism at the highest level by, for example, reading relevant literature, attending conferences and seminars, meeting and maintaining contact with others involved in the technical specialism, and taking an active part in appropriate professional and trade bodies.
- Keeps in close touch with and takes a leading role in contributing to current developments in the technical specialism within employing organizations, own industry, and in appropriate professional and trade bodies. Is fluent at articulating best practices and is a recognized authority in the technical specialism.
- Controls the application of the technical specialism within employing organizations and closely associated organizations such as customers, suppliers, and partners. Oversees specific assignments related to the technical specialism, where appropriate.
- Leads the development and promotion of the technical specialism. Initiates and authorizes the release of quality standards and policies relating to the technical specialism.
- Takes responsibility for the provision of quality assurance of activities involving technical specialism.
- May provide input to professional bodies defining applicable legislation, standards, and compliance guidelines.
- Writes, or contributes to articles and papers and speaks at conferences, user groups, or specialist subject groups on topics involving technical specialism. Champions and/or sponsors special interest groups concerned with the technical specialism.
- Provides organizational leadership and guidelines to promote the development and exploitation of technical knowledge in the organization.
- Within a defined area of accountability, determine the requirements for appropriate governance reflecting the organization's values, ethics, and wider governance frameworks. Communicates delegated authority, benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks.
- In own areas of expertise, provides advice and guidance to consultants and/or the client when delivering consultancy services. Takes responsibility for the quality and appropriateness of recommendations.
- Manages provision of consultancy services, and/or management of a team of consultants.
- Establishes agreements/ contracts and manages completion and disengagement.
- Takes responsibility for the identification, proposal, and winning of further business for own areas of expertise, within a larger consulting practice or organization, including putting in place agreements/ contracts and managing completion and disengagement.
- Engages with client management to explore new opportunities and/or grow client relationships.
- Provides mentoring to client staff and consultant colleagues, transferring skills and expertise.
- Establishes and maintains the policies for compliance with the organization's obligations (including legislation, regulatory, contractual, and agreed standards/policies), holding the management team to account.
- Leads reviews of governance practices with appropriate and sufficient independence from management activity. Within a defined area of accountability, determines the requirements for the appropriate governance of the specific domains, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and authority, goals, and objectives.
- Implements the governance framework to enable governance activity to be conducted. Undertakes and/or directs reviews as necessary to ensure management decision-making is transparent, and that an appropriate balance between benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks can be demonstrated to principal stakeholders.
- Acts as the organization's contact for relevant regulatory authorities.
- Ensures proper relationships between the organization and external parties, with a valid interest in the organization's governance, are in place.
- Takes full responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the technical content of bids and sales proposals. Establishes metrics to help with monitoring and continuous improvement of the sales support activities.
- Leads the organization's sales support service activities and team to ensure that they are aligned with corporate objectives and policy.
- Ensures that problems are diagnosed and resolved and that the final solution proposal is fit for purpose and fully meets the customers' requirements.
- Leads the organization's customer service activities to ensure they are aligned with corporate objectives and policy.
- Influences the development of the organization's portfolio of products and services in light of customers' needs, innovation, and market competition.
- Takes overall responsibility in assisting customers to clarify their needs and requirements for new and enhanced systems, products, and services, and ensures that effective solutions are devised. Oversees assessment of the technical feasibility and practicality of potential approaches, technically approves proposals, and initiates the implementation of development activity in customer services and systems.
- Ensures that customers are trained in the use of the systems, products, and services supported, giving information on the full range of features and capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to own and drive the Google Cloud business specifically within the financial services sector.
- Experience building a business from the ground up for the APAC market.
- Established deep connections/networks within Google Cloud, either directly with Google or through Google Cloud Partners.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills to develop and grow the business in a competitive market. Typically educated to bachelor's degree level, holds a relevant professional qualification, and may have a postgraduate qualification such as an MSc, MBA, or other appropriate business, engineering, scientific, or industry qualification.
- Has achieved proficiency in Governance, risk, and compliance, or Security and privacy Skills at Level 5, or has gained experience in a relevant business or specialist domain environment involved in the introduction and application of governance frameworks and processes.
- Demonstrates high standards of professional behavior in dealings with clients, colleagues, and staff, and proven ability to manage a consultancy assignment with a team of consultants. Has a comprehensive knowledge of at least one specific area and a broad understanding across a wide field along with a record of applying such knowledge successfully in a variety of situations. Demonstrates the ability to take significant responsibility, shows skill in the management of change, and can handle contacts of all types and at all levels. Can make sound and far-reaching decisions alone on major issues and take full responsibility for them on a technical or managerial basis.
- Possesses mature interpersonal skills and can demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Can communicate effectively with senior levels of internal and client staff. Is skilled at oral and written communication. Demonstrates integrity, objectivity, and impartiality. Has a broad knowledge of current techniques and practices associated with development, project delivery, and service provision and is a recognized specialist in at least one area. Understands the main strategic and commercial issues facing IT and the Organisation's management and has a good understanding of the principles of management and control. Possesses a good understanding of and practices according to a professional code of conduct and code of ethics.
- Has recognized expertise in technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment. Has a sound, broad knowledge of IT and an excellent understanding of how the technical specialism relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions. Can influence at all levels of the organization. Has leadership skills and can manage a team.
- Shows excellent interpersonal skills and strategic understanding of client business requirements. Has a sound knowledge of the concepts and practices required to implement effective systems, products, and services. Has gained a broad understanding of business/commercial methods and practice, particularly within the markets to which sales support activities will be directed.
