Position summary:

This role will lead the organization accountable for information technology to the East Asia and Indirect Channel Management (ICM) organizations. The individual will develop and manage business partnerships with the respective leadership teams to formulate IT strategy and architecture in alignment with business strategy and objectives. Additionally, the role is accountable for the collaboration across global ICM teams not limited to Asia Pacific. The individual will continue to drive key programs to achieve financial, operational and customer service goals.

Key responsibilities include leading an engaged and effective team, building strong collaborative relationships with business leadership and teams, managing the IT budget while guiding effective investment in IT by providing knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities and prioritizing initiatives, defining & monitoring IT projects to address business needs, and managing IT alignment of project deliverables with business requirements throughout the project and delivery life cycle.

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

Drive IT value creation and customer satisfaction for East Asia & ICM organization.

Build and maintain strong relationships with business leadership and act as a liaison between IT and business teams.

Collaborate with the East Asia & Indirect Channel Management leadership teams to develop an integrated strategic roadmap with business strategy and technology roadmap that aligns with Asia Pacific, Global ICM and Stryker Enterprise strategies.

Be a valuable functional member of the East Asia & Indirect Channel Management Leadership teams and deliver as a trusted advisor in driving technology solution and service differentiation.

Participate in the development of business and IT strategic plans.

Lead, engage and develop Business Analysts, Project Managers, Architects and other IS resources to address the organization’s IT priorities at agreed upon service levels and expectations, facilitate cross-functional definition of high-level business requirements and project scope, and build strong partnerships with business stakeholders.

Lead collaborative efforts for business case development.

Positively challenge and question business partners on needs and benefits.

Charter and prioritize program and project initiatives in conjunction with business leadership.

Monitor service level metrics for the business groups to ensure that all SLAs are being met.

Identify opportunities where conflicts/synergies/redundancies exist between business capabilities and systems to improve IT effectiveness.

Contribute to the budgeting process and lead and recommend CERs for IT projects for the business.

Manage the IT budget for East Asia & Indirect Channel Management teams.

Liaise with other IT stakeholders in Global Application Development, Global Service Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Governance to ensure alignment and ensure a smooth integration of process output with the rest of the IT environment.

Closely partner with the appropriate business partners from other Business Partner organizations where required by physical location proximity or organizational alignment.

Communicate on projects by issuing regular status updates and managing communication within team, IT organization and Asia Pacific and ICM business leadership and stakeholders.

Manage external resources: from finalization of deals with external vendors within authorized budgets (cost and time) to monitoring of implementation resources and recommending any necessary corrective actions.

Education & special trainings:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

Qualifications & experience:

10+ years of professional work experience in IT and/or business discipline required.

5+ years management experience required.

Extensive knowledge (5+ years) of medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industry and basic knowledge of adjacent areas in terms of processes, organization, products and IS requirements.

Demonstrated professional experience in IT and/or other related business discipline is required.

Project management experience, working with internal and external cross-divisional team members, preferably with IT projects

Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control

Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both divisional leaders and technical teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, engage and develop a high performing team

Good business acumen and negotiation skills
