Assistant/Claims Manager, Reinsurance

We will count on you to:

You will be covering claims on lines of business such as Property, Casualty, Terrorism, Energy, Power, Construction & FinPro. Role also involves mentoring and guiding more junior team members thereby assisting the Team Leader in managing the team. Identifies potential policies and coverage for incoming claims, performing independent research to seek validation or clarification where necessary Notifies (re)insurers of any new claim in a prompt manner and keeps them fully updated as the claim progresses. This involves the registration of the claim on the system(s), the issuance of PLAs, RLAs, DLAs, debit & credit notes and the collection of both indemnity and expert fees with regular follow up in order to deliver timely collections. Handles complex issues pertaining to claims complications, claims processes and/or claims collections, escalating where necessary. Provides prompt, clear and accurate advice to clients and other parties on any claims matters Coordinates with MMC Finance/Credit Control on claims and/or fee payment reconciliations and ongoing settlements to clients and claims experts Maintain physical and/or e-files for all documentation to/from clients, (re)insurers, claims experts, etc., and ensures that all notifications, expert reports and updates are e-filed.


What you need to have:

At least 8 to 10 years claims experience, preferably within a broking environment, with experience in some of the lines of business mentioned above Achieved CGI, ACII or equivalent relevant qualification Good understanding of (re)insurance policies, contracts/slips and their commercial aspects Experience in handling large and complex (re)insurance claims Able to multi-task and work well under pressure Able to work independently as well as within a team in a fast paced environment
