About Team:

The Flow Cytometry Laboratory offers highly complexed testing ranging from Immune Cell Phenotyping and Immune Cell Function Assays, Intracellular Assays, Receptor Occupancy Assays and Hematologic Malignancies/Minimal Residual Disease Assays. These assays allow assessment of inflammatory and oncology biomarkers that are valuable in the monitoring and management of HIV, Hepatitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and oncology patients.

You will learn about the various assays and their applications which are essential for clinical and commercial application which has facilitated the discovery of new diagnostics and treatments to manage a wide array of diseases.

Student will gain real-world experience working as part of a drug development team in the laboratory. Understands quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. The intern will be exposed to pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical aspects of the department workflow and the applications of various assays. Instruction and mentorship will be provided. At the end of training, the student will do a presentation to fulfill his/her understanding in the project assignment.

Internship Assignment Summary:

This program will provide students with valuable, hands-on experience and student will gain clinical experience working in the laboratory of a drug development company. Attend laboratory modules linked to quality control management, pipetting skills and the various informatics labware. Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your soft skills and professional presence. Good Laboratory Practice.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

Open to current student of Science Diploma (Biological Sciences/Biomedical). Good organization and multitasking ability. Able to communicate effectively with excellent verbal/written communication skills. Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Creative and self-motivated individual who works collaboratively in a high performance team environment.
