We are looking for an Analyst/ Associate to join our Corporate Development team. You can be remote but preference is for candidates based in Singapore, Malaysia or Hong Kong

The Flash Coffee regional Corporate Development team is based in Singapore and supports management/ c-suite in making strategic decisions regarding all markets. The team has a broad scope encompassing conventional corporate finance (i.e., fundraising/ M&A/ IPO support), strategic performance management, and long-term strategic planning. You will help support a number of growth & optimisation initiatives as the company progresses to the next level in its growth stage. 

What you’ll do:

Most of your work will fall within the following workstreams, but there will be opportunities to work in other workstreams according to business needs and/or your longer-term development potential. 

  • Fundraising: including performing (high-level/ strategic; as well as in-depth store-level) financial analyses, creating investor materials, updating financial models and pitch decks, transaction structuring, leading due diligence, evaluation of sources of capital
  • BoD management & investor relations: including updating board presentations, supporting investor updates and strategic decision-making
  • Financial planning & analysis, budgeting: including supporting evaluation of country performance, cross-country benchmarking & goal setting, supporting capital allocation analyses and the budgeting process
  • Other corporate finance topics: end-to-end M&A and IPO support
  • Ad-hoc operational/ strategic projects: including supporting other regional/ country departments in high-impact projects, supporting analyses for strategic decisions around geographical expansion/ vertical expansion/ value chain integration/ employee performance evaluation frameworks

Who you are:

Candidates would ideally have 2-5 years of experience working at consulting firm/ investment bank/ PE fund/ VC fund, be very numerate (given the finance/ commercial angle inherent in all projects),  have a track record as a significant individual contributor as well as a strong team player – comfortable working as a leader, supporting a team, and working closely with various personality types to drive strategic initiatives forward across the region.​

In addition, traits we love:

  • You have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree from a top tier university
  • You have common sense
  • You are numerate, strong preference for being highly technical (in accounting and corporate finance)
  • You have a mindset of taking full ownership (vs. being pure executional/ an Excel/ Slide monkey)
  • You are able to see the big picture while at the same time have a strong attention to detail -- i.e., you do not boil the ocean and/or miss the forest for the trees
  • You have emotional intelligence 
  • You are data-driven and you have strong analytical skills
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel first and foremost; then PowerPoint); Google Suite is a plus (gSheet/ gSlide)
  • You have strong communication skills, and are a team player 
  • You are comfortable and enjoy working with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
  • You are passionate about F&B (and coffee)
