**Senior Curator - SEA Position Overview**:
**Senior Curator - SEA Job Description**:

- Organize the gallery’s SEA portfolio and define the curation direction, standards and objectives of the SEA portfolio.
- Identify areas of strengths and gaps in the SEA portfolio. Develop a strategy for identifying artists or partnerships to enhance and fill gaps in the portfolio.
- Develop a model with the appropriate dimensions and measures for evaluating the goodness-of-fit to the gallery’s portfolio.
- Engage with artists and develop an understanding of each artist’s individual techniques and their significance within the industry. Onboard artists and develop an individualized program of exhibitions and events to promote the artist.
- Create and maintain relationships with industry specialists, as well as clients in order to maintain a clear understanding of client’s needs and interests.
- Work with gallery team on detailed planning for exhibitions and gallery events. Provide support to the gallery team with essays and written content for the show.
- Attend art fairs and events such as art exhibitions and maintain currency of art world trends and emerging patterns. Work with art fair organizers and liaise with press as required to promote the profile of the gallery.
- Provide guidance to junior curators.
- Manage the selection of artwork as well as working closely with artists to provide insight and direction on the creation of new works for exhibitions and events.
- Work closely with the digital marketing specialist at the gallery to support the generation of social media content.
- Provide economic research capability and insight into the economics of the key art markets in South-East Asia.
- Liaise with governmental agencies and bodies, such as the National Arts Council of Singapore to explore and develop opportunities for collaboration.

**Senior Curator - SEA Qualifications**:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in art related field
- Minimum 15 years of work experience. Must have prior experience working with a commercial gallery.
- Work experience with SEA government agencies and tendering processes preferred
- Must have an existing network of contacts with local and regional Galleries, Museums and private collectors.
- Hardworking and motivated whilst also being able to work independently and efficiently.
- Exceptionally strong customer service and communication skills, allowing you to maintain positive relationships with galleries, artists and clients.
- Must have some prior sales experience and able to translate curatorial vision into realizable sales.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Up to date and fully knowledgeable of art market trends.
- Knowledgeable of artistic techniques and features.
- Flexibility to travel.
