**About the Role**

Recently, we’ve experienced an exciting period of growth across the firm, as we look to invest in and support the most ambitious founders in the Asia-Pacific region. As our own ambition continues to grow as a firm, we are looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer who will take ownership of significant responsibilities within our firm, including oversight of the financial and operational functions for our firm. The role will be a Partner level equivalent role who will have end-to-end management responsibility for all of our funds and fund management company, which includes the accounting, tax, human resources, compliance and administration functions of the firm.

The right person for this role is not just bright and extremely motivated but ultimately is “comfortable with the uncomfortable”. We are moving quickly as a firm and the ability to move at pace will be important. Given the senior nature of this role, we are looking for someone who is “low-ego, high integrity”, demonstrates grit and a “get-it-done” attitude as well as having the ability to build a lasting culture as we build one of Southeast Asia’s preeminent investment firms.

**Responsibilities**

Fund Finance and Administration
- Manage the finance and reporting function of the various January Capital funds.
- Work closely with the firm’s functional business teams, third-party service providers, limited partners, legal counsel, auditors, vendors and other external parties.
- Managing annual audits processes for the various January Capital funds.
- Responsibility for tax reporting and compliance requirements which includes engaging with external tax advisors where necessary, annual income tax filings, operationalising tax incentives and GST filings.
- Work with the firm’s partnership to review, monitor and plan each fund’s cash needs for investments, management fees and other operational expenses on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee and review ongoing capital calls, distributions, quarterly reporting for all funds.
- Lead new fund launches from a fund administration perspective, including fund structuring, onboarding service providers, opening bank accounts, and coordinating with internal and external legal/tax teams on entity formation and fund documents.
- Work with the finance team to fulfil KYC compliance and onboarding of prospective LPs.
- Providing ad-hoc support in answering any queries investors might have in relation to January Capital funds from a tax or finance perspective.
- Review schedule of investments to track and monitor investments.
- Review valuations and valuation memos prepared by our Head of Data and Reporting.
- Oversee and review investor reports for financials and ensure overall consistency.

Fund Management Company
- Take ultimate ownership for the operational finance function of the Fund Management Company which includes helping oversee an existing team responsible for regular financial reporting, audit, management of working capital (including AR and AP) and processing of payroll.
- Own the annual budgeting process for the firm and ensuring there is sign-off from partnership at the start of each financial year.
- Take ownership of the tax reporting and compliance requirements which includes engaging with external tax advisors where necessary, annual income tax filings, operationalising tax incentives and GST filings.
- Working with our Head of Legal and Compliance, ensuring the various policies and guidelines required across the firm remain up-to-date.
- Work with the firm’s Chief of Staff to ensure all SOPs are implemented correctly.
- Work with external compliance consultants to implement, update and monitor compliance processes in line with MAS requirements for a Fund Management Company
- In partnership with our Head of Legal and Compliance, be the primary liaison with the MAS and review ad-hoc MAS surveys.
- Being the primary oversight of the firm’s growing Operations team, which includes a Head of Data and Reporting, Head of Legal and Compliance, Head of Finance, Analysts and Office Manager.
