Chief Financial Officer

**Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (Based in Africa)**

**Location: Guinea, West Africa
**Jobs Responsibilities**:
1. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) drives business performance and shareholder value by delivering high quality financial information and insights. It works closely with the Company leadership developing and executing the asset strategy for the Simandou Rail and Port system. The CFO is responsible for defining strategic objectives, financial and business activities in the Simandou Rail and Port system in consistency with the overall strategy and mission, adhering to legal guidelines and the highest business integrity. The role oversees Performance and Management Systems, Legal, Local Content, Risk Management and Treasury, and other functions if any.

2. The CFO will be reporting to the financial and audit and risk Board Working Groups.

3. The CFO is responsible for guiding the Company’s financial performance strategy and associated performance, making key decisions and, proactively driving financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and cost discipline to influence outcomes and drive value that aligns with the Company’s objectives. The role is also responsible for providing detailed analysis and advice to influence financial strategy, planning and decision-making.

4. The CFO must ensure governance and compliance through effective financial controls and risk management practices.

5. Develop and manages the business strategy for the Company (including annual budget and local content strategy).

6. Lead the presentation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports and track and analyze actual variance to budget.

7. Manage cash flow, decide investment strategies, funding, capital structure and accounts payable and analyzes the Company's financial weaknesses and strengths, whilst proposing corrective actions

8. Lead the Company’s performance management, risk management and business planning framework in partnership with the business.

9. Ensure implementation of systems, procedures, and policies in relevant supporting functions (finance & accounting, systems and information technology, legal) for preparation for Operational Readiness through construction and commissioning.

10. Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the management.

**Jobs Requirements**:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related, and/or Master's degree in Management or Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Economics, Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university; or Any other advanced degree equivalent to a Master's degree from an accredited college or university which is relevant to the function of Chief Financial Officer; (Masters Desirable)

2. Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CIMA or equivalent accreditation is desirable or similar accreditation is desirable.

3. Experienced executive with +20 years’ work experience within finance, accounting, or auditing, of which 10+ years in a similar role in a large private or public company, preferably in the same industry.

4. Experience in building and growing a new organization through strong leadership and organizational skills; commercial acumen; ability to build trusted and respected relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

5. Previous working experience in Africa will be an advantage.

6. Solid knowledge of all applicable tax regimes, OHADA, IFRS and IAS is desirable.

7. In-depth knowledge of applicable local regimes, corporate governance, general management, risk management, corporate finance, performance management and in setting up and leading business systems and IT.

8. Experience in developing and implementing local content strategies.

9. Expertise in a wide range of standard business and financial tools, and ability to find technological solutions to improve performance.

10. Experience in managing and leading a diverse work team toward the accomplishment of common goals in a collaborative, yet fast-paced and stressful environment.

11. Strong problem-solving, strategy, negotiation, presentation and influencing skills.

12. Experience as a board member of a rail or port infrastructure, transport or logistics company would be an asset.

13. Proven capability in executing the required accountabilities.

14. Fluent in French and/or English and/or Mandarin so that can liaise with different counterparties.

15. Willing to relocate in Guinea, West Africa.
