**Technical**:

- Broad knowledge and hands-on experience with pilot/production scale processing equipment (low/high moisture extrusion, post-processing and formulating of textured proteins) for the development of plant-based meat/fish/dairy substitutes
- Sound understanding of process conditions and ingredient impact on desired structure, appearance, and textural attributes of alternative proteins
- Troubleshoot technical problems and execute the development/modification of products
- Prepare and present technical reports/results, both written and oral, to associates, peers and to management
- Perform technology evaluations and optimize processes to create new food in close collaboration with the food industry as well as academia

**Project and life cycle management**:

- Lead, co-ordinate, plan, design and execute product development through all stages of development; concept to pilot-scale prototype development in close collaboration with industry partner and our scientific team
- Ability to interpret company needs and communicate them back to the team
- Review and document raw ingredients, formulations and final product specifications to maintain accurate records and to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Initiate risk assessments and ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.

**Requirements**:

- 5 plus years of experience as a Project Manager
- Professional experience in the fields of food product development, food processing e.g. for alternative proteins in an industrial setting
- Hands-on approach and strong technical understanding of food processing
- Practical experience in quality assessment (protein functionality, sensory properties, processing behavior) of alternative proteins
- Desire to achieve goals together, ability to work effectively in a team, leading and mentoring research associates, collaborating effectively with fellow scientists and engineers, and setting an example of scientific excellence for the team.
- Targeted and clear communication style allows to convey even complex matters in an understandable manner
- Proven ability to strategize, design and execute experimental plans. Deliver stretch objectives on time and budget
- Proactive, self-driven, results and action oriented, demonstrating passion, strong teamwork spirit, open mind and flexibility
