**Position available**: Research Officer, EMULSION Programme **About EMULSION Programme**: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a metabolic disease of global concern, affecting over a quarter of the world?s population. It is a leading cause of chronic liver disease, and one of the most common indications for liver transplantation, and a cause for liver cancer. NAFLD in Asian populations is unique from that in Western populations: it is typically characterized by a lower body mass index, younger age, increased complication rate, and higher prevalence of a "thin fatty liver" phenotype. The EMULSION programme is a national initiative to build an Asian study cohort to identify common and divergent molecular disease drivers of Asian and Western NAFLD. We seek a Research Officer to join us in our discovery of molecular drivers of NAFLD. **In this position, you will**: ? Assist in the design, planning, and execution of research projects. ? Collect, analyze, and interpret data using appropriate statistical methods and software. ? Conduct literature reviews and summarize relevant research findings. ? Collaborate with the research team to develop research protocols and methodologies. ? Prepare and maintain accurate records of research activities, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. ? Assist in the preparation of research publications, including manuscripts, reports, and presentations. ? Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements throughout the research process. ? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. **You will need**: ? Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, psychology, social sciences, etc.). ? Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis. ? Experience in data collection, management, and analysis using software such as SPSS, R, or Python. ? Proficient in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing research findings. ? Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. ? Effective writen and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present research findings. ? Atention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality. **It would be great if you had**: ? Scientific background in liver biology and/or metabolism ? Experience working with liver stem cell lines and primary cell culture, and genetic manipulation in cell culture systems ? Experience in mouse models, especially of liver biology ?
