**THE ROLE**:
As the **Director, Accounting (APAC)**, you will function as a strategic thought partner to the CFO, APAC and the executive management team while independently overseeing the entire APAC Accounting organization including financial reporting, internal controls, tax and payroll. As a critical member of the global finance team, you will be responsible for helping to build, safeguard, and align resources with company priorities to best serve our customers.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
- Establish, manage, and execute the accounting and financial reporting processes for the APAC region including primary responsibility for the financial reporting of our Singapore and Chinese markets, and any future expansion in the region.
- Manage regional accounting functions including financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and tax compliance - ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and tax returns.
- Manage regulatory compliance, local policies and procedures, internal controls, and other financial regulatory/compliance efforts.
- Oversee local tax compliance in the region including our Singapore and Chinese markets.
- Lead the execution of all local external statutory audits for each APAC market, and coordinate with the parent company to support the global consolidated audit.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership and business partners to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:
- At least 8-10 years of experience in progressively larger accounting leadership roles; experience in a managerial/supervisory role preferred.
- A mix of public and private accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant certification is preferred.
- A very hands on and high ownership individual.
- Experience in high growth environments within the consumer goods industry.
- Experience with tax and payroll compliance and managing external audits.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a global team, proficiency in Mandarin a big plus.
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and budgets.
- Ability to use new accounting software and tools as part of a global organization
