Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a strategic, results-driven, and well-connected senior public relations professional to lead Industries PR in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). The role will drive communications programs for verticals, including but not limited to: consumer (e.g. Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Advertising, Travel & Hospitality), industrial (Manufacturing, Automotive), Regulated (telecommunications, energy, finance), and entertainment (e.g. Sports, Games, Media & Entertainment) verticals. This role also includes driving communications plans around some of AWS’s most strategic customer deals across the region.

The role can be based in one of our offices based in Sydney or Singapore. This role will require frequent domestic and international travel.

Key job responsibilities
- Work in close alignment with stakeholders including business leaders, marketing, analyst relations, and public policy, ensuring buy-in and engagement in the communications strategy.
- Identify and develop customer references for media relations and public speaking opportunities
- Develop and successfully manage relationships with key media, bloggers, influencers, and AWS customers and partners.
- Work effectively with Global PR teams to ensure global consistency and standards are maintained
- Develop and drive results-oriented communications strategies and impactful PR programs by running a team, which business partners with regional business leaders.
- Use metrics, data, and related insights to help drive and improve programs and activities.
- Train, certify, and develop internal stakeholders, ensuring that they accurately represent the Amazon culture and technology to customers and external stakeholders. Partner with in-country PR leads to ensure local spokespeople have access to relevant, aligned enterprise messaging and content.
