The Emerging Systems Division focuses research and development on a broad spectrum of capabilities that are critical to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) defence systems. These include antenna design and electromagnetics, as well as next-wave technologies in the areas of lasers and advanced materials.

Electromagnetics R&D Engineer

In this role, you will:

- Design and development of EM structures
- Carry out EM/RF measurements (from material level characterisation to scattering measurements) and analysis to characterise their properties and performance

**Requirements**:

- PhD / Masters in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Applied Physics / Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Experience in the design of EM structures such as radomes, FSS, Beam Steering Arrays, passive and active metasurfaces
- Proficient in the use of computational design tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, HFSS, CST or equivalent simulation software
- Proficient in the operation, characterization and control of active devices (e.g. switches based on PIN or varactor diodes, or MEMS), especially in the implementation of their design into an array which allows for active control of beam steering
- Knowledge in EM / RF measurements, including material level and scattering RF measurements of both EM panels as well as structures
- Possess Graduate level knowledge in Electromagnetics, specifically EM wave propagation and scattering in media, EM properties in materials (both intrinsic and engineered), active devices such as switches (e.g. PIN diode, varactor diodes, RF-MEMs)
- Knowledge and experience on the design of active circuits, such as the implementing the form of an active array to carry out active / dynamic steering of EM scattering
- Good working knowledge on EM measurement and analysis techniques
