The Emerging Systems Division focuses research and development on a broad spectrum of capabilities that are critical to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) defence systems. These include antenna design and electromagnetics, as well as next-wave technologies in the areas of lasers and advanced materials.

Materials R&D Engineer

In this role, you will:

- Be responsible for the development of advanced materials with functional and/or smart properties, assembly and fabrication of the materials combining material design and active control such as through electronics, and devising/conducting experimental characterizations
- Perform design, characterizations, and validation of shortlisted designs in in-lab environment.

**Requirements**:

- Masters / Bachelor’s Degree Electrical & Computer Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Engineering Physics
- Proficiency in basic modelling software and coding
- Knowledge and skills in different characterisation techniques for materials
- knowledge and background of EM wave propagation
- Knowledge on electronic design and control would be advantageous
- Self-Driven, able to exhibit analytical thinking to address / solve unstructured problems
- Able to work in lab environment, exhibits keen inclination on lab R&D experimental work
- Able to compile and analyse technical data / outputs
