**About your role**

**Strategic & Technical Leadership**
- Define and drive R&D roadmap aligned with company goals and market needs
- Lead cross-functional innovation projects across software, UX, QA, and hardware
- Guide software architecture and ensure scalability of tech platforms

**Team Management & Talent Development**
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing R&D team
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement
- Develop internal capabilities across engineering, design, and upstream product teams

**Product Development & Translation**
- Collaborate with product and operations to bring PoCs into scalable production
- Ensure design-for-manufacturability and compliance in new product development
- Coordinate pilot runs, test builds, and production readiness

**Vendor & Partnership Management**
- Evaluate and manage external vendors, including tech partners and academic institutions
- Drive negotiation of scopes, pricing, and SLAs for outsourced services
- Ensure smooth technical integration and compliance with standards and IP policies

**IP & Innovation Management**
- Drive invention disclosures and patent strategies with internal teams
- Embed IP awareness and capture mechanisms into engineering workflows

**Agile R&D Execution**
- Define and track PoC metrics, UX alignment, and roadmap governance
- Oversee R&D sprint cadence and interface with downstream implementation teams
- Maintain oversight of product roadmap, ensuring prioritization and feasibility alignment

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors/Master’s in Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages
- Experience translating R&D prototypes into production systems
- Familiarity with patent filing, vendor management, and compliance (ISO, CE/FCC)
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical details to both engineering teams and business stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset—ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly technical environment
