The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales, business development and market development initiatives and activities to drive revenue growth. The position will work with Product Development, Product Management and Product Delivery to learn how to sell our solutions and give feedback from the field. This will involve directing all sales-related activities, conducting market research, actively engaging in the acquisition of new key clients while maintaining relationships with existing clients and partners, reviewing marketing information, sales patterns, growth projection and other relevant data to forecast revenue streams, conducting live demos of products, and preparing tailored presentations and/or proposals.
What You Will Do:
1. Develop and implement sales, business development and market development initiatives and activities to drive revenue growth
2. Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual team targets by generating a sales pipeline, accelerating active opportunities, and driving to close.
3. Direct all sales-related activities including prospecting, qualifying, contract negotiations, RFPs/RFQs, and closing.
4. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for sales and business development targeting of the maritime and offshore industries.
5. Accurately forecast committed and best-case opportunities and to achieve committed dates.
6. Actively engage in the acquisition of new key clients while maintaining relationships with existing clients and partners.
7. Review marketing information, sales patterns, growth projection and other relevant data to forecast revenue streams.
8. Work closely with Marketing, SDR, and Channel teams to develop demand creation campaigns in support of selling efforts.
9. Collect market/client information and provide feedback to sales leadership, product, and marketing.
**Job Requirement**
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent sales/customer service experience required. MBA preferred.
2. Requires 5 years of experience in sales management with a software company.
3. 5+ years of SaaS sales experience selling SaaS/subscription-based software solutions in a global territory model.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Experience managing a quota-based account management.
2. Sales in the maritime software industry is a must.
3. Skills to organize, plan and direct the work activities of professional employees, and to handle multiple ongoing projects.
4. Administrator, specifically in cost reporting, client billing, and revenue forecasting.
5. Knowledge of the unique natures of both software product management and the maritime industry.
6. Strong client-based development skills. An entrepreneurial mentality to recognize and capitalize on new business opportunities.
7. Ability to negotiate agreements with clients concerning the scope of work and billing rates.
8. Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
