About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Assistant Director External Affairs & Sustainability Asia-Pacific (EAS ASPAC), the incumbent will be required to manage/coordinate regional activities, initiatives, and targets related to the EAS ASPAC portfolio. In performing his/her duties, the incumbent will follow the guidelines from the Assistant Director and execute actions in close coordination with central divisions and local offices in the region. The incumbent will also work hand in hand with local and regional associations as required. The focus will be to work with governments, member airlines and other industry stakeholders to achieve IATA's objectives in the region on regulatory, and environment and sustainability matters.
What your day would be like
- Deliver IATA's objectives for the region, which may include aviation policy and regulations, environment and sustainability, and industry taxation matters;
- Promote IATA's policies, positions, objectives and activities amongst airlines, governments, regional organizations and other industry stakeholders;
- Plan and deliver IATA advocacy campaigns and engagements in coordination with the central divisions and local offices, aiming to have a more favorable regulatory environment in accordance to IATA, ICAO, and industry best practices and recommendations;
- Lead the regional effort for IATA to be the trusted source of industry data, including industry economic analyses to support IATA's engagement with member airlines and potential members in the region;
- Plan and coordinate IATA regional account management activities;
- Build and maintain an effective network among regional stakeholders including airlines, airports, civil aviation authorities, regulators, governments, and regional associations, and ensuring their alignment and support for IATA lobbying and advocacy endeavors;
- Represent IATA at internal and external workshops, seminars, and events aimed at educating and influencing key regional industry stakeholders and the public;
- Be on top of industry-related developments in the region, taking or recommending actions which are consistent with IATA's policies and objectives;
- Work closely with central divisions and other teams in regional office on all cross-functional areas to build, maintain and support strong stakeholder management with airlines, regulators and other stakeholders to support EAS ASPAC activities;
- Support the achievement of IATA revenue-generating targets through promotion of IATA products and services and creating leads for the commercial team;
- Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Assistant Director from time to time.
We would love to hear from you if
- You have a university degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Economics;
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years' working experience in Asia-Pacific;
- Aviation and international relations experience is essential;
- Excellent track record in working with external stakeholders with a strong awareness of airline industry issues, trends and priorities;
- Good knowledge of aviation environment and sustainability matters will be an advantage;
- Highly motivated with proven teamwork abilities;
- A self-starter with proven ability to proactively engage internal and external stakeholders to make progress on work goals;
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders with diplomacy;
- Experience in making clear presentations and preparing industry analyses and reports based on technical merits and facts;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and fluent in both written and spoken English. Other languages would be an asset.
