The Associate Director, Mobility will lead our internal global mobility team, with team members based in the Manila and Belfast Centers, and Mexico City. The role holder will act as an advisor to the Member Firms on all cross-border Mobility matters. Mobility is at the core of Baker McKenzie and as the first truly global law firm our focus in this area remains a priority. This exciting and critical role is part of the People Function. The role holder will have overall responsibility for all lawyers and business professionals on assignment or relocation cross-border (international and US domestic).

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead our global mobility approach and provide strategic guidance and advice to leadership
- Working as an advisor to Local/Regional Talent teams in respect of international assignments and permanent transfer needs of the Member Firms
- Compliance analysis for international remote requests and domestic requests with a tax impact
- Partner with internal tax, employment, risk and immigration lawyers or external vendor, to advise on mobility compliance
- Manage and develop the mobility team members, and provide guidance with complex matters.
- Relationship and contract management for global mobility vendors, e.g. expatriate tax, relocation, data provider.
- Manage tax compliance including tax return filing and tax reconciliations per the mobility tax policy
- Work closely with payroll teams, providing guidance where shadow payroll reporting is required
- Collaborate with local and global Finance teams regarding how secondments are funded
- Support with the development of best practice mobility processes and procedures, aligned with to the Firm and People strategy
- Mobility policy review and benchmarking
- Support ad hoc projects

**Skills and Experience**:

- Significant experience in a related role e.g. in-house global mobility or professional services
- Experience advising on mobility tax matters - personal and corporate tax risk. A tax qualification would be advantageous
- Experience in a Law Firm and/or professional services environment is desirable
