**[What the role is]**

Temp Student Support Officer (Special Educational Needs)

**[What you will be working on]**

- Provide individualised support to students in managing challenging behaviours in school, including support management for meltdown
- Support the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to implement behaviour intervention and learning support plans for students with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders
- Maintain records of student progress and interventions implemented
- Assist with organising and implementing programmes for students with SEN
- Partner with SEN team, academic team and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment conducive to the success of students with SEN
- Help in managing the SEN consultation office

**[What we are looking for]**

- Relevant qualification in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas
- At least 3 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting
- Resourceful and good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse background, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills
- IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience in facilitating workshops and events management would be an advantage
- Passion and disposition to care for and work with students with SEN.
