Chef Assistant

**Salary**:Basic S$2,600-3,000/month** - **Estimated gross S$3,500-4,000/month**
**Meals**: Staff meal provided
**Rest Days**: 4 days/month

Work Hours (Rostered)
- Two shifts**:7:00am-5:00pm** or **12:00pm-10:00pm**

What You’ll Do
- Assist Head Chef with daily prep and cooking according to menu/recipes
- Ensure ingredient freshness; support purchasing, receiving and storage
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene; follow food-safety standards
- Help allocate tasks and guide kitchen assistants/trainees
- Control portions and reduce waste per SOP
- Contribute ideas for new dishes/menu improvements
- Provide cover for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence to keep operations smooth

**Requirements**:

- **2+ years** back-of-house/kitchen experience (hotline/prep)
- Knowledge of basic kitchen operations, mise en place, portioning and food safety
- Able to communicate in **basic English** for kitchen instructions and safety; other languages are a plus to serve diverse customers (not a requirement)
- Team player, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Food Hygiene certification (e.g., **Food Safety Course L1**) is an advantage; otherwise willing to obtain after joining
