**OVERVIEW**:

Cap Vista, the venture investment arm of MINDEF, is dedicated to leveraging dual-use technologies through strategic partnerships with leading venture capitalists, innovation hubs, government agencies, and other ecosystem players. Our focus areas include cutting-edge fields such as cybersecurity, AI, autonomy and robotics, sensors, and network and communications, aimed at adding value to our portfolio companies and enhancing Singapore’s Defence Tech Community.

As the Senior Head/Head of Investment, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment, engaging with a wide array of emerging technologies and the rapidly evolving global start-up ecosystem. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, esteemed entrepreneurs, and international investors.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Investment Sourcing & Management**: Identify, evaluate, and manage investment opportunities that align with Singapore’s defence needs, focusing on dual-use technologies.

**Financial & Business Analysis**: Perform comprehensive financial and business analyses, preparing investment documentation to support the investment process and structuring of deals.

**Market Research**: Conduct thorough market analysis on technology sub-sectors and landscapes to inform investment strategies.

**Portfolio Management**:

- Advise portfolio companies on strategic operations, including technology development roadmaps, capital planning, and anticipating funding or exit needs.
- Identify and engage strategic co-investors, setting clear milestones and metrics for successful fundraising.
- Develop programs to strengthen relationships with preferred investors and partners.
- Facilitate connections between portfolio companies and potential customers within the defence sector, across the Whole-of-Government (WOG), and with global partners.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- ** Educational Background**: Degree in Engineering/IT/Science. A plus to have MBA or strong familiarity with financial due diligence and financial modelling.
- ** Investment Expertise**: Proven experience in investment deal structuring, financial modelling, and developing exit strategies.
- ** Experience Level**: At least 3-8 years of relevant experience in deep tech investment.
- ** Technical Proficiency**: Skilled in structuring investment deals, developing financial models, and negotiating legal agreements.
- ** Industry Experience**: Prior experience in a consulting firm, venture capital, private equity, or a related role in a start-up.
- ** Portfolio Management**: Experience in scaling companies, business development, and managing investment portfolios.
- ** Start-Up Ecosystem Engagement**: A keen interest in the start-up ecosystem, particularly in working with early-stage companies.
- ** Communication Skills**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
