The Carbon Analyst will support the development of a scenario-based carbon pricing model, and iterate regular short and long-term forecasting of carbon credit prices across different project types. He/she will be working closely with GenZero’s strategy and investment teams, external consultants and access carbon databases to analyse, synthesise and communicate market and macroeconomic trends that will inform GenZero’s internal outlook on the carbon market.

**Responsibilities**
- Support the build of a scenario-based carbon credit pricing model based on demand-supply forecast across compliance and voluntary markets
- Analyse and synthesise marginal abatement cost curves, land and energy models, as well as regulatory developments in key markets to identify drivers and trends, and produce regular stakeholder reports on the GenZero’s key investment focus and strategy
- Engage with analysts and work collaboratively across the GenZero ecosystem to produce customised analysis and assessments

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Degree in business, finance, economics, sustainability, environmental science or related disciplines; Engineering, Mathematics or Data Science
- 6-10 years of experience as a carbon or energy analyst, with exposure to forecasting and commodity analysis
- Experience in working with macroeconomic data in a similar role
- Relevant experience building carbon, energy or commodity price forecasts
- Deep understanding of carbon markets and policies
- Analytical problem-solver with an attention to detail
- Proficiency in coding with R, Python (or similar language) will be an advantage
- Good written, verbal and visual communication skills
- Strong work ethic, professionalism and personal integrity
