Job Description

The Facilities Management Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all critical facility systems within the data center. This includes ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and energy efficiency of air-conditioning, mechanical, and electrical systems to support continuous data center operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repair of Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems and equipment.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot data center cooling systems, including CRAH, CRAC units, server rack cooling, and chiller plants.
  • Oversee the operation and performance of AHU, FCU (chilled water/DX system), cooling towers, water pumps, dehumidifiers, and ventilation systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure all systems operate within defined parameters.
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance for critical systems and coordinate with vendors or contractors as required.
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) and ensure proper logging of system readings, trends, and alarms.
  • Support electrical control and mechanical systems to ensure facility reliability.
  • Respond promptly to equipment faults, alarms, and emergencies to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and technical documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Data Centre Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience in air-conditioning servicing, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of CRAH/CRAC systems, chillers, AHU, FCU, BMS, and ventilation systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and HVAC industry standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, service management tools, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members.

  • Ability to work independently, perform shift duties, and support emergency call-outs when required.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC and ACMV servicing.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication abilities with the capacity to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of service management tools and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
